As the weekend came to an end and the working class prepared for yet another work week, Brothers of the Gamma Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc showed their gratitude for the special women in their lives.
Gamma Iota held its annual wife appreciation dinner on December 22, 2013 at the Sumter Mall located in Sumter, SC to display each of the members’ appreciation for their wives or significant other.
The Basileus, Vincent Ferguson, began the evening by addressing the women present for dinner. He stated the purpose of the dinner and how much he appreciated the support that each woman gives in allowing the brothers of the chapter to serve the community.
“The purpose of tonight is to show each of you just how much we appreciate you,” said Ferguson. “You allow the brothers to attend the various meetings throughout the year and serve the community in which we live. Tonight I want each of you to sit back and enjoy the evening as the brothers will serve you”.
The evening was filled with delicious food served by the brothers of the chapter and a gift exchange among the women in attendance. As the women began mingling and brothers introducing their significant others to other women in attendance, laughter filled the room. By evening’s end, the dinner had been an overall success as the women left with smiles on their faces and a sense of appreciation on their minds.
Although the brothers of Gamma Iota have made serving the Sumter community a part of their lives, it certainly would not be possible without the support of the women in our lives. Truly, you all are the “rock” in Rock Solid Ques!
