On behalf of the Brothers of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., it is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you to our official website. We invite you to explore, connect, and return often to see how the Brothers of Gamma Iota are continuing to make a lasting impact in our community.
As we proudly enter our 86th year of service to the Sumter community in 2025, we remain steadfast in our pledge to be a driving force for positive change — uplifting lives, building leaders, and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
Here are just a few of the signature programs and events that define our mission:
• William Blanding Mentorship Program – Guiding young men ages 8–14 through mentorship, leadership development, and life skills that prepare them for success.
• Robert R. Hooper Camp A.M.I.G.O. – A week-long summer experience launching our mentorship year, teaching our Four Cardinal Principles — Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift — alongside field trips, swimming, and engaging activities.
• 5K Walk/Run Against Domestic Violence – Since 2008, Omega Psi Phi has stood as the first Black male organization to internationally denounce domestic violence. Proceeds from this event support local women’s organizations that aid survivors.
• Achievement Week Banquet – Celebrating outstanding students, community leaders, and Brothers for their exemplary service and achievements.
